* unless your image is considerably larger than the size it’s used within your artwork then output quality will suffer. A 72dpi image should not be used at more than 25% its original size to maintain image quality |

*** For maximum output quality an image should be scanned at the desired output size. If the image size is increased within the artwork then the pixels per inch are stretched thus reducing image quality. |

We’re more than happy to accept your artwork from whatever application you’ve produced it in, however, we would like to set a few ground rules to make both our lives easier & to ensure that you get the most from your print. IMAGES With the advent of the internet & digital photography access to bespoke imagery has dramatically increased. Unfortunately NOT all digital pictures are of good enough quality for print output & as a general rule you should not use images directly from the web. |
COLOUR Colour is a very subjective medium with reams of literature outlining the subject. You should never make a colour judgement from what you see on screen or from your laser/inkjet output unless you are using colour calibrated devices. If your colour is critical then it’s imperative that you request a HiRES proof. Monitors, most scanners & digital cameras produce their colour using Red, Green & Blue whilst print is from the process colours Cyan, Magenta, Yellow & Black. It therefore stands to reason that some kind of conversion must take place between the two colour platforms, this is best handled by packages such as Adobe Photoshop. If you’re unsure of any of the content used in the artwork then please let us know, it’ll save us a great deal of time & you money. FONTS Whether your using TrueType or Postscript make sure that they are either embedded within the artwork or that all parts of them are supplied to us for output. PROOFING We will always provide you with a full set of proofs, either as a PDF or set of laser prints, which are included in your quote. You should check the content carefully paying particular attention to unique information. Remember that these should not be relied on for accurate colour, colour accurate Hi Resolution proofs can be supplied at an additional cost, please enquire. ACCEPTED FILE FORMATS We accept most well known packages but do give us a call if you feel that your package is unusual, we can usually accommodate your needs. FOR a more comprehensive guide please give us a call. |
